WORKWEAR’s humble origins began in 1972 with the formation of LILY TAILOR by its sole proprietor Madam Tai, who was well-known for her “cheongsam” and other ladies clothing. The shop initially focused on the services sector, providing work wear for restaurants, nightclubs and hotels. Subsequently, as word got around about its quality and services, LILY TAILOR attracted the attention of multinational companies such as Malaysian Tobacco Company, Metal Box and Unilever among others. In 1990, after venturing into the uniforms segment for these corporations, LILY TAILOR was incorporated as a private limited company, and changed its name to WORKWEAR.
